Sponsors

I decided to to accept a few Etsy shop / small business sponsors on the blog because people were just knocking down the door to advertise on this site. Oh wait a minute. I was confused there for a minute. More like, I had one cute girl inquire about blog sponsorship and I said okay, I'll give it a whirl. I must be a people pleaser. ;)

If you like unique art pieces that have a shabby, cottage, chic vibe then you should check out the Etsy shop Lori A McKee Design. Since I am forever forgetting other people's birthdays (I always seem to remember my own though, hee hee) these birthday calendars would come in super handy. I like the small one because it could tuck away into a purse or a tiny drawer. What is my obsession with tiny drawers and cubbies!?!?

Birthday Calendars - Lori A McKee on Etsy

I made an info page about blog sponsors which can be found underneath my ugly, temporary blog header. You can check it out if you want. Or you can eat a donut instead because donuts are yummy.

A Bird

Random story alert. The other day while a friend was visiting and we were chatting away about all things decorating baby, there was a huge thump at the living room window. I knew right away that it was an unfortunate bird/glass accident. I ran outside to see if the little gaffer made it. He was alive! I picked him up to see if he was bleeding or broken or carrying any infectious diseases but he was all good. I set him down in the grass, ran inside to get my camera, went back out and snapped this:

Then, he flew away!

A Cute Picture of Coops

I am making an effort to take some photos of Cooper with my real camera rather than just tiny, grainy ones with my iPhone. I need to get out of the weird mentality that every picture needs to look like it's from a photo shoot. Since it was his five month birthday on Tuesday, I took a few cute ones. Here is my favourite of the bunch:

A BIG Homesense Find (Literally)

I meant to show you this forever ago but I completely forgot until recently. We have a huge empty wall above our staircase. I wanted to find something really unique to display on that tall, narrow wall. I though for sure I was going to go with an old ladder, but I was hesitant because I already have an old ladder in the breakfast room and I don't want to become the crazy ladder lady.

One day I saw this really interesting canvas piece displayed horizontally over a bed at Homesense. I looked at it, looked at it some more, and then looked at it again. I'm not usually a fan of plain canvas prints but this one was so pretty and silvery that I had to have it.

If I flip it vertically like in the above picture, it will fit perfectly on that huge, narrow wall above the stairs. YEAH! The only problem is that we need to borrow some crazy ladder before we can install it because it is such an awkward spot.

You can kind of see where it will go in this picture (the wall on the left):

It's a print by Australian artist Sarah Brooke and it's really pretty. The pictures don't do it justice at all. If you were to see it up close (and with the plastic off) it has lots and lots of texture to it.

I can't believe that I actually found an art piece from Homesense that matches my house! Now that's just crazytown.

My plans for the weekend are to take Cooper on his first nature trail walk, bake something pumpkin-y (possibly these muffins), work on my old sign project, and possibly sleep in while Alex is on baby duty. Muhahahaha! What are you up to this weekend?

Funny how you say that you need to get over the photo shoot idea and yet the photo of Cooper looks like a professional photo....and last but not least...HOMESENSE rocks...have a great weekend...xo

  3. i agree with the photo comment. i always think that the photos of bug need to be set up and super special, but the ones around the house are probably the ones that will be the most special to her b/c they are from her everyday life! so just keep snapping away :)
