20 Fun Free Fonts

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

Oh hi.

The past two weeks have been a whirlwind. That must explain why my hairdoos have been so terrible. We've had so many activities / adventures that they are all kind of just blurring together right now. Long weekend at the cottage. Visits with friends. Visits with family. Last weekend babysitting the cutiest patootiest little boy (Cooper's big brother from another mother). Annual tour of homes. Sewing projects. Baking projects. Birthday dinners. Fall fairs. Trips to the park. Shopping. Cooper stalking. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Tomorrow I have nothing going on. Nothing. And I am so excited about it. :)

I did, however, scrounge up a few minutes here and there to put together a list of fun, free fonts.

That's how much I'm a nerd I like you.

You see, as an elementary teacher, I tend to have quite the collection of funky fonts.

{I'll never forget the day I learned how to download and install new fonts on my computer. I literally spent hours downloading any cute / fun font that I could get my hands on. Later on I complained to Alex that my computer wasn't working properly. After the hubs took a look, he informed me that Windows was slow because it had to load all 500 new fonts that I had just installed. Ooopsie. I had to go back and delete 2/3 of them but I still have a few of my favourites.}

I've seen some cute posts about favourite fonts on other blogs lately so I thought I'd join the party and share some of mine.

All of 'em are fun and free. Best criteria ever.

Here they are:

  1. Oh, I like Harting and Broken 15! Have you ever went to Google Web Fonts? If not, you should...it's my new favorite place. The fonts aren't quite as jazzy as the ones you showed us, but hey, they're free :)

  2. Thanks, Sarah! I'm a teacher as well and had the same font epiphany a few years ago. Now I find the challenge when I make something with my Silhouette is choosing the perfect font. I'll be downloading a few of these for sure (and already had several of them!). I have a Pinterest board that is just font round-ups like this if you ever have extra hours of time ;)

    Two of my favourites are Ostrich (http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/ostrich-sans) and Lavanderia (http://www.losttype.com/font/?name=lavanderia) Both very different but lovely!

    Enjoy your blank canvas of a day!

  6. Oh I love free fonts. I just downloaded a few the other day... one was like cupcake something or other. (clearly I pay a lot of attention.)

    You're so fun. I love following you on Pinterest by the way. We apparently enjoy the same style. LOL
