Confession #1

I am secretly jealous of uber-healthy people who eat only organic foods and whole grains and exercise all the time and blah blah blah. The problem is that I really love butter, chocolate, Pepsi, Cheesewhiz, and chips. Another problem is that I enjoy watching episode upon episode of shows like How I Met Your Mother and Modern Family and 90210 rather than, you know, moving.

Confession #2

I'm always losing my debit card, credit card, and any bills that Alex gives me (he's my sugar daddy). I always seem to find them again... just days or weeks or months later. I just found the debit card that I lost in the summer. It was in a secret pouch in my camera bag. I also just found the replacement debit card that I also lost in the pocket of a coat that is now too small (note to self: stop eating chips and butter). Alex loves doing laundry because he always finds a random bill or two stashed in my pants or hoodie pockets.

Confession #3

I seem to be deathly afraid of pattern and colour. I've got a handle on super pale stripes. Other than that, I'm clueless. I ordered something yesterday that is completely out of my comfort zone. I'm going to "live on the edge" and try to add some pattern to one room in our house. I'm nervous just thinking about it. Oh my.

Confession #4

I am way too sensitive (even though I pretend to be a toughie) and feel utterly crushed when I see that someone has gone to the trouble of unsubscribing to my little blog. I spend way too much time wondering what I did or didn't do. It even happened this week. Boo hoo hoo.

Confession #5

Alex and I often read or watch t.v. literally jammed into our two-seater loveseat with both dogs (even though we have a big couch about 3 feet away). It's squishy and very dog-breathy. We just might be those crazy dog people.

Weird confessions..... to be continued. ;)

  1. With you on #1 100%. I don't make food related "resolutions" ever. Ever. My grandmother is still kicking at 91 and has lived a life of cheezewhiz and stale soft drinks.
On #2, I am a horrible loser of things but luckily not usually $. Knock on wood.
#3 I am stripe girl. Fabric. Curtains. Walls. Clothes.
#4 I've lost 3 in the last 2 weeks but I'm not counting or anything. Sniff.
#5 I would do way more projects and blogging if it weren't for TV...I turn it on and end up tuned in...plus we have 147 shows on tivo
    Loved your weird confessions! :)

  4. Every year, I resolve to make no resolutions. Despite having had gastric bypass surgery 1 1/2 yrs ago, I continue to love chocolate, much to my dismay. Oh, well, I will have to pick my battles I suppose! :)
Don't really lose things, as I spend too much time keeping track of my darling husband's losses. :)
Oh, pattern and color! Love them, love them, LOVE THEM!! White is nice too, and from what I've seen of your blogs, you do a beautiful job with it!!!
Don't yet have a blog... that is one of my goals for the year... :)
What's a TV? Seriously... my husband and I sold our TV and DVD player (although we kept about 150 of our favorite DVDs) last May as we were moving from Florida to Washington state... we pull out the laptop, pop in a movie, and sink down on our couch with the two dogs and two cats. We, too, have a very dog-breathy type life, and with the cats leaving their "love offerings" for us, life cannot get any better... well, except for when we get our farm and start getting some goats!... but that is the subject for a future blog...

Loving the weird confessionals, and I would never unsubscribe from your blog... I am finding way too much design and decor inspiration!!

  5. Thanks for being so honest. It's always fun to find out the "quirky" things about fellow bloggers. We all have them but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to share mine - and some of them you would probably rather not know! : )

  6. J'adore your little blog, and in fact, you are the ONLY one to which I subscribe! Hope that makes you feel better. :) Oh, except for my sis's real food blog (yes, I am one of those uber-healthy people and I practice yoga religiously. I am deathly afraid of Cancer.) which you can find right here:

Maybe you can make some small changes. She's got some entertaining reads anyway. Thanks for your blog. I really do love it.

  7. LOL! What a fun post, Sarah! I laughed all the way through it! lol! I think all of us need to do a "True Confessions" post now and then. It helps others (as well as ourselves) see us for who we really are - love us or leave us! :) You're certainly not alone in your confessions, girlie. We're all secretly telling ourselves, "Yup....that's me, too....!"

  8. gosh, it's SO crazy... but I feel the same way about people unsubscribing. I know it's dumb, but it makes me sad!

  9. Ha ha, Love your blog or you even more now. I am pattern nuts which is sometimes not good. I went color nuts when we bought our house painting each room n the house a different color (navy, red, forest green, lake blue) I have issues! I love the simplicity of your style. Thanks for making me feel "normal"

  10. Hee, hee, you always crack me up. Eating non-healthy is way more fun. Except Cheesewhiz. Really?! That stuff is gross:) One of my 2012 goals is to add more pattern/print (and whimsy) to our house. At least your style is consistent. Mine is all over the place. Holy crap, I just looked and you have over 1000 followers?! Congratulations, that is awesome, well deserved. I always wondered what was happening when my followers number went down. Sniff.

  11. I have just joined your blog. Your post is really funny. I feel the same way about butter and chocolate. What is life is there is not butter and chocolate? I wonder if all of those people so intent on exercising are really happy without butter and chocolate. I think not! Your post has made me laugh and laughing is really good for us. Have a great weekend. I love your blog.

  12. We. Are. Twins.
With one exception, my hubby thinks its mean to kick the 2 dogs out of the bed if they crawl up in the middle of the night, so I'm the one that leaves and sleeps in the spare room. I think we have you beat in the "crazy dog people" department! And my anti-pattern-ness stretches to my wardrobe. All solids, all the time. Wait, does that mottled "oatmeal" color count as a print??
