The Master Bedroom Before Picture. It's bad. Very bad.

Monday, January 6, 2014

I realized the other day, when I posted a few pictures of our new and fabulous closet doors, that I've never shared a real before picture of our master bedroom.

I had to get the hubs to dig up this picture from the archives. It's the picture we took during our very first walk-through as proud, first time homebuyers. (Although now I'm not so sure what we were so proud of back then. The house was SO UGLY!)

:)

Are you ready for this? Here she is........

Oh, the memories. Some of my favourite things from the room (barf) include:

- peachy-beige painted everything
- dusty rose-coloured carpeting
- brown and blue plaid curtain panels
- raw wood trim around the windows
- louvered bi-fold closet doors
and
- faux-gold outlet covers and door hardware

Man. I can't tell you how happy it makes me that all we have left to work on in this room are the finishing touches. SHOPPING!!!!!!!!!!  I have some plans up my sleeve to add some wall art, bedding, and cottage-y accessories. And I am {PINKY SWEAR} going to get this room finished this year.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Oh, and just for comparison's sake (even though I shared these exact photos the other day), here are the sort-of after pictures of the room:

I like white. I don't like peachy-beige.

OH YEAH, and while I'm here - did I ever mention that I have a Facebook page now for Cozy.Cottage.Cute.? Yup, and I've even been updating it regularly for the last few months. Wait a minute...... did someone kidnap the real me?!?!?! Christmas decorations put away the week after Christmas, two posts in one day, updating my Facebook page regularly..... something strange is going on that's for sure. ;)

    1. Hi Jen,

I used Old Prairie by Benjamin Moore in the master bedroom (pictured in this post), the upstairs hall, and in the baby's nursery. It's a lovely colour. I looks a little bit different in each room depending on where the room faces and how much light it gets. It's definitely on the green side. I hope that helps!

  10. Just happened upon your blog in the wee hours of the morning (it's not yet 5 am here), and I have to say your house and blog are both lovely! I'm a fellow Ontarian, but currently living abroad, so when I saw references to Canada, I immediately perked up! Before moving overseas, my husband and I were the proud owners of a century old rural farmhouse, so I can relate to being charmed by an older home. Ok, well, just wanted to say good job, and I look forward to reading more of your posts.

    1. Aw, thanks so much for taking the time to say hello. I also get giddy when I "meet" other people from Ontario.

      :)
