Ask Me a Question, M'Kay

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

So while I was surfin' the net this morning I came across a post written by Holly of In The Fun Lane where she's opening up her comments section for random questions from her readers. I thought this was a fun idea. Plus, I thought I'd give you a break from updates on our Fixer Upper in case the ugly early reno process just isn't your thing.

Soooooo, here's where you can ask me anything you like be it about decorating, renovating, eating too much cereal, life in general, cooking / baking, adoption, fashion (bahahahaha that was totally a joke)(I still shop at teeny bopper stores), photography, Coopster stuff, etc.

You ask it, I'll answer it. Holly's going to answer her questions in a video but I don't think I'll be that adventurous this time. Plus, how can I photoshop out my forehead wrinkles in a video?!?!

Now here's where I need your help. Can someone, ANYONE please humour me by asking me one little question. 'Cause you know I'm the sensitive type and if I get none I'll be sad. And cry. (You can even ask a question using the anonymous feature in the comments section if you really want.)

P.S. Cooper just punched me in the face as I was typing this.

P.S.S. I don't hold a grudge so I'll post a cute picture of him anyway. ;)

Just so you know...I'm lovin the fixer upper, it's going to be neat watching it from sale to finish. But it's nice of you to change things up. So just for the sake of participation and not wanting you to cry, I will ask a question...how long do you expect the reno to take?

Cooper is the cutest by the way!

  12. How on earth are you surviving this Ontario heat wave without air conditioning?! I've been a reader for years and I'm almost positive I've figured out that you live somewhere in Northern Ontario!

  13. Do you ever regret taking in another dog? We have 2 kids and 2 dogs and sometimes I think how much easier our life would be had we not adopted our highly active female rescue. (This is just a thought our dogs will forever be a part of our family)

  15. Do you ever over-think your decorating decisions? If so, how do you focus?? Once I get started I'm good, but I often don't start projects because I'm so overwhelmed with the possibilities.

Another 'white furniture' question - do you regret buying a white chair for your nursery? Am debating buying the same one for ours, but am worried about spit-ups, diaper disasters and generally keeping it clean.

I'm in that awkward stage of growing up where I'm well out of college, but haven't set up my "decor style" yet. How did you manage to reason with yourself to get rid of all the old mismatched furniture and splurge on matchy items? Was it over night or did it take years to phase out the old items? (I always feel so guilty getting rid of perfectly operating furniture..) :)

  29. LOVE it Sarah!!!

Can't wait to see the renos (I am one of those nosy readers who will lurk and lurk and hang on every word!!). My question is what is your favorite indulgence? Food? decor? TV? Sleep??

I am going to link you in my answer post so we can all learn more about each other, like girlfriends sharing a good margarita together, in imaginary blog-style. (if that even makes sense LOL)

  30. Im so "Smitten" with you and your blog! Im your newest friend:) Please tell me what your oppinion is about all this blogging? For instance do you blog alittle or publish projects at the rate of speed or post personal things such as family everyday occurances?Do you ever feel left behind in the dust as a blogger? Also what do you think about all white shabby furniture in a living room? Too much? lol ok hope Im not overloading your brain! Thanks for being such a good sport!

  31. I really want to know how you managed when you were working full time, renovating AND blogging? Where did you find the time to blog? I started, but I find working full time exhausting (we're renovating as well, room by room all by ourselves) just didn't make time for it (everywhere I read about blogging mentioned how it can be a full time job if you let it)

    Love your style!

  32. I am ready to take the plunge with white slipcovers. I have been all over the internet reading about them and looking for the right one. Did you make yours? If not where did you buy them?
I love your blog! I stumbled upon it in the last several months although I don't remember how I found you. Probably by searching for white slipcovers! :)

  33. I LOVE your blog, and I just wanted to let you know that I could never get sick of the 'boring reno stuff'. I LOVE seeing what people do with the 'bones' of their places. Looks like you're doing a great job so far!
Anyways, we just moved into a house that has old-ish (54 years) hardwood flooring. The floor in our bedroom is in quite bad shape, and we'd like to sand it and re-finish it. My question is, have you ever painted a hardwood floor? The slats don't have any space between them, and I'm just scared to commit before hearing of anyone else that has done it! lol
Thanks, and keep up the awesome reno's!
