A Sorta Lazy Sunday - Updated

{Update: Thanks to June's helpful comment, I now know what all of my poor, unnamed plants are called. Thank you!!!}

After another crazy busy weekend we finally ended up having a quiet afternoon to ourselves. Since the sun was shining and the temperature was quite warm compared to the last few weeks, we decided to clean up the yard a bit. We used extra large bags this year and tried using the mulcher/bag combo on our mower instead of old-fashioned raking. It worked like a charm and we were done in a third of the time. Yeah!

Those Home Depot bags are awesome.
After bagging so many dead leaves I went inside and couldn't help but notice that some of my indoor plants have been growing like crazy. Crazy I tell you!

This vine thing (Golden Pothos) that I clipped only a month ago has reached the floor again!
I love how the leaves on it are heart-shaped. I told them to grow that way.

Christmas Cactus.
This little guy is getting ready to bloom some hot pink flowers.

African Violet - So green!
I love this mini little plant from Home Depot. I move it around the house all the time. It looks cute anywhere.

Pink Oleander.
The pale pink buds will soon be a bright, pretty pink.

Kalanchoe.
I received this plant as a gift for attending a baby shower a few years ago. I've had to replant it twice already because it has been growing like crazy. Don't go getting the wrong idea and start thinking that I've got a green thumb or anything. I've killed my fair share of houseplants over the years. :)

P.S. If you couldn't tell I was also playing around with some of the settings on my old camera before I get my new one. Of course I only pretend to know what I'm doing. 47 more sleeps!

  2. your unnamed plants are... in order... golden pothos (or indestructaplant as I have christened it), African violet, and kalanchoe.

    You can root the pothos for new baby plants very easily - cut off the trailing vines when they are too long, stick them in water, and they will grow roots very quickly. You can keep them in the water indefinitely (I'm telling ya, indestructaplant) or pot them up...maybe in cute crafted pots as xmas gifts or hostess... I'm just sayin'. :)

  3. Be sure to keep your oleander up away from animals and children. They are beautiful, but poisonous!

  5. Use your leafs as mulch instead of bagging and tossing them best thing you can do for your plants...
