Christmas Inspiration I

Martha Stewart
Please don't hate me because I'm posting about Christmas already. It's my feeble attempt to not leave holiday decorating until the last minute which I seem to do every time. For example, my Halloween decorations didn't even make it out of the box this year. Booooo to me. (Not the Halloween "boo" of course.)

I know that many of you are getting ready to celebrate and decorate for Thanksgiving but us Canadians have already been there and done that. So that means if I start thinking about Christmas now then I might actually end up ahead of everyone else. But it's not a competition, I swear.

This year I'm being drawn to white, green, and natural Christmas decor. I just finished a really nerdy list of little project ideas that I want to accomplish before the holidays such as homemade placecards, garland, and stockings. If I start now I might be able to accomplish them all one of them by Christmas Eve. That's when our big Christmas shin-dig will go down at our house. It will be our third year hosting but it doesn't seem to get any less stressful. :S

Anyway, here are some photos that have been inspiring me so far:

  3. I am duly inspired. I especially enjoy the first picture. I actually DO have 1.5 trees up & decorated. I'm actually behind schedule. And the house is a disaster - not how I like to decorate - but we had to clear bins galore (mostly Christmas decor) from the basement for insulation work, and the house was already not clean and tidy to start with...so I need inspiration to get myself out of this mess and into holly, jolly Christmas cheer.

  10. Sarah... I love your inspiration photos. Yum on the Country Living Black Hutch w/the wreath hanging down. Oh, and I dig the digdigs...wow! I'm sure you're a great host and your party will be amazing! I think it shows you really care about your friends and family when you get excited to cook and decorate. I'll be hosting our first Christmas Party, this year. I'm very nervous... about 40 folks from my husband's work. Anyway, I will be looking back to see what ideas you come up with. I need HELP :)

Oh, and I'm a new follower! xo ~Michelle

  11. Those are some great inspirational photos, I love the natural look, but I live in Winnipeg and there isn't a lot of coniferous trees around to steal limbs off of. Now when I lived in the lower mainland of BC, that was never a problem, just go out after a big wind and there were limbs everywhere, free for the taking.
I think I am going to go red and white. Fresh and bright. Btw, I really like your blog, I will be back!
