We also call ours a camp! I only write cottage for the blog, lol. My husband is familiar with the area that you are referring to (Grundy Lake Provincial Park) but it is not the same lake. We are further North!

My family used to have a cottage (they were called camps back then) north of Toronto, south of Sudbury off Grundy Lake Provincial Park on Kawigamog Lake. Your grandfather's cottage and the hunting camp look familiar, are they on that same Lake?

I can definitely see the potential of the hunting lodge. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Oh my gosh! You are so fortunate. God is quite amazing. My husband and I dream of a place in Northern MI where I grew up. So many lakes to choose from but we want one town--Harbor Springs. COZY. COTTAGE. CUTE! And the "cottage" is a more modern cottage look--new cottages but soo stinkin' cute. The town is a picture postcard!!

That is so exciting! I lived in Canada, just outside of Toronto, from the age of 8 to the age of 14 and I have such good memories of going to cottages during the summer. One of my best friends parents had a cottage, I loved going to stay there. Our last 2 summers in Canada, my mom and step-dad rented a run down cottage in Wasaga Beach, we would have a blast running around in our bathing suits...I can still remember the smell of the charcoal grill. Good times!

Hi! I am a reader from Erie, PA (USA). We also cottage in the summer and it is our favorite family time. There is nothing like a quiet lake, swimming, boat rides, unplugged parents, campfires, board games, mommy reading on the dock while kids play in the sand :) and family. My husband's family has owned a little place near Dorset, ONT for 40+ years, and it is the best gift. thank goodness the grandparents bought years ago becAuse the price tag is a LOT higher now :/ We love cottaging! Congratulations!
